There is interesting news out today (see News Articles and the links below) concerning Greenberg Traurig’s role in the Heller Ehrman dissolution last year.

Basically: Greenberg should have run a UCC search when they signed Heller on as a client and should have discovered that Bank of America had cancelled its security interest in the Heller line of credit.  This seems to be a standard practice of most firms in taking on a new client or pursuing a new matter.

It was not until the attorneys for one of Heller Ehrman’s landlords discovered the UCC issue.

So now, not only does Greenberg Traurig seem ripe for a malpractice suit from either the Unsecured Creditors Committee and/or other parties, but should someone be going after any errors and omissions insurance carried by Heller?

Question: I am eligible for the premium reduction and have been enrolled in COBRA coverage since before the ARRA’s enactment. Can I get a refund of 65% of the premiums I have paid prior to the law’s enactment?

Answer: No. The premium reduction provisions apply only to premiums for coverage periods beginning on or after February 17, 2009. If you were eligible for the reduction but paid in full for periods of COBRA coverage beginning on or after February 17, 2009, you should contact the plan administrator or employer sponsoring the plan to discuss a credit against future payments (or a refund in certain circumstances)

Reports to:  Library Manager

Office:  Seattle, Washington 

Summary 

This position is responsible for assisting the library manager by processing publications, filing publications and shelving books, locating missing books, and maintaining the library check-out file.

Responsibilities

• File updates to loose-leaf services, books, etc.
• Process  new publications received by the library.
• Locate missing books.
• Type book cards and other materials as needed.
• Re-shelve books, including those on floors.
• Maintain book check-out card file.
• Provide additional assistance to the Library Manager, as needed.

 Qualifications

• 2+ years working in a library environment, or similar relevant experience preferred.
• 1+ years computer experience; MS Office software preferred.
• Ability to maintain interest and a positive attitude while performing (sometimes tedious) repetitive tasks.
• Accurate typing skills.
• High attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with lawyers, clients and staff.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
