Open House – Monday, September 22nd

Your Cruise Director has received this info:

“Davidson Legal Staffing is hosting an informal “Open House” for Heller Ehrman employees on Monday, September 22nd between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. We encourage you to stop by to talk personally with one of our recruiting experts who can address how to put your best foot forward when searching for the next step in your career. Davidson Legal Staffing offers a full range of services to our candidates and clients including temporary, temp to hire and direct placements in an array of law firms and all areas of law.

We look forward to meeting you on Monday between 9am-4pm!
You may contact us at 415-296-8700″

It looks like this might be helpful for those support staff in San Francisco.

Also, probably the subject of a separate post, but I just want everyone to know about recruiters, placement people, 401k advisers, etc. contacting yours truly and asking that info be posted:

– there are no ads or advertisements on this blog despite having now close to 30,000 hits as we speak.  Your Cruise Director very easily could have had crap splayed all over this blog but decided that not only was it bad manners to make money off of a truly tragic situation, but it is just tacky.  Heller Drone will get paid ten times over in karma if just one person can use this blog to be better informed.

– there are no inside deals, exchange of swag or other silliness.  Basically someone emails me (which I prefer rather than them dumping crap into the comments) and asks if I could post an item and where.  I take it under consideration, I thank them profusely, and that is that.

– if you think this entire practice of trying to recruit away Heller Ehrman support staff is like sharks circling the lifeboats, then what do you think your attorneys have been doing with their doors shut all day with no emails or no work but the phone light on contstantly?  And if it isn’t their desk phone, it is their cell phone.

– rest assured that your Cruise Director can smell stinky chud from a mile away and does his/her best to make sure that you never see it.

Over and out.

Heller Highwater (
Last Modified: September 14, 2008

- Don't be a dill weed.

- Treat other people the way you want to be treated.

- Ladies and children first.

- This is a rescue, not a bitch session.

- Help don't harm.

- Save the snarks for the attorneys and Above The Law.

Heller Highwater is not:

- a place to practice viscious and vindictive "whisper down the lane" rumour-mongering;

- a place to bad mouth co-workers;

- a place for diatribes against specific people or specific incidents;

- a place to heap pity on poor Heller Ehrman staff by outsiders;

- a place that discriminates or sets margins noting who is outside and who is inside - we even welcome supportive Heller Ehrman attorneys!;

- meant to further the demise of Heller Ehrman, LLP.

Heller Highwater is:

- a place for support, a place of empowerment, a place of passion;

- a place to learn about job leads, resume preparation, skill building, training, new opportunities, and how to succeed in a new workplace;

- a place to keep up on the latest news as to how Heller Ehrman management intends to treat its support staff as it winds down its operations - will it be every woman for herself? or will it be "let me hold the door for you and is there anything else I can do for you"?

- a place of refuge.
