Updated Heller Ehrman FAQ

Also sent via e-mail was a link to the updated FAQ sent out on Wednesday.  Funny, but whoever did the update did not create a new version so that you could run a redline comparison between the original and the update.  Perhaps an error or perhaps a deliberate means of making sure we didn’t exactly see the change.

But Heller Drone has “mad skillz” when it comes to these things especially secretarial work.  He just wishes he still had the legs for it.

Here is the change:

BENEFITS—Medical Coverage

1.  Will medical coverage be in effect past the date of dissolution?  If so, how far past?  End of the month?  30 days?

We recognize that health insurance coverage is a very important issue for our employees and their families.  CIGNA, our primary medical and dental care insurance provider, has confirmed that coverage for all personnel insured under that policy is in place for October.  We can also confirm that our premium payment terms are current with our other providers, Kaiser and Group Health Cooperative.  We are working with our bank lenders to secure their authorization to pay the premiums necessary to continue all health coverage in effect beyond October 31.  We will update you as we receive more information.Cooperative, and we have no reason to believe that those benefits will be discontinued provided we continue to meet our premium payment schedule, something we have every intention of doing.

    I wonder when Heller will address the incoming associates. There has yet to be any official communication to incoming associates about these events or the status of our stipend, and we have apparently been shut out of the job placement intranet site. Stay classy, Heller.

- Treat other people the way you want to be treated.

- Ladies and children first.

- This is a rescue, not a bitch session.

- Help don't harm.

- Save the snarks for the attorneys and Above The Law.

Heller Highwater is not:

- a place to practice viscious and vindictive "whisper down the lane" rumour-mongering;

- a place to bad mouth co-workers;

- a place for diatribes against specific people or specific incidents;

- a place to heap pity on poor Heller Ehrman staff by outsiders;

- a place that discriminates or sets margins noting who is outside and who is inside - we even welcome supportive Heller Ehrman attorneys!;

- meant to further the demise of Heller Ehrman, LLP.

Heller Highwater is:

- a place for support, a place of empowerment, a place of passion;

- a place to learn about job leads, resume preparation, skill building, training, new opportunities, and how to succeed in a new workplace;

- a place to keep up on the latest news as to how Heller Ehrman management intends to treat its support staff as it winds down its operations - will it be every woman for herself? or will it be "let me hold the door for you and is there anything else I can do for you"?

- a place of refuge.
