HRIS and Training systems Analyst (6 month contract)

An excellent opportunity has become available in the firm’s Human Resources Department. In this key position, you will provide support for the ongoing communication, administration, and maintenance of all Human Resources and Training information systems. You will also manage systems enhancements, customizations and be responsible for resolving system related issues. Please note that this position is for a 6 month contract with a possibility of extension or conversion to full-time status.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as key point of contact for system related questions and issues (e.g. system access, navigation, and other technical assistance)
  • Works with Human resources, Payroll, and Training to assess and define functional requirements and criteria, and works closely with the IS department on technology projects
  • Helps ensure data integrity in systems by maintaining internal database files and tables
  • Proposes and designs technical solutions to solve business problems
  • Performs system upgrades and communicates system changes to impacted parties and process owners
  • Provides end-user training, consultative support, and technical assistance for all new and ongoing users
  • Ensures that systems are compliant with company system security standards and that security controls are in place
  • Develops standard and custom reports, as well as ad-hoc report requests, to meet reporting requirements
  • Develops project plans for technology related projects, and manages technology projects involving multiple departments and external vendors
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of software applications, databases, and learning tools

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as business systems analyst supporting an HR, Payroll, and/or Training department
  • Knowledge of databases and HR/payroll/training systems
  • Experience with ADP HRIS, TrainingPartner, Reqwired preferred
  • Experience with MS Outlook and Citrix
  • Law firm or legal background a plus

Employment & Employee Relations Manager

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the firm-wide staff employment and employee relations functions.

You will oversee the employee relations function, including manager and employee counseling, policy development and interpretation, and employee recognition and activities. This role also includes management of the firm’s immigration program, staff diversity initiatives, and state and federal reporting. You will be primarily responsible for working with firm management to create new policies and interpret existing policies.

You will be responsible for delivering a high level of human resources services by providing appropriate guidance and assistance to address a variety of employee related issues. You will work closely with the management team to provide HR support, anticipate employee and organizational issues, and make recommendations and implement solutions to attract, motivate, develop and retain employees.

Responsibilities include emphasis on creating and leading projects related to career path development, talent development, succession planning, workforce planning, management training, and performance management.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the primary contact for all day-to-day questions about firm policies from associates, staff and firm management
  • Defining and supporting global talent management and retention strategies
  • Directing the development, implementation, and coordination of policies and programs covering critical HR initiatives such as employment/recruitment, employee relations and organizational development
  • Fostering a motivated and engaged workforce with low turnover by developing innovative recruiting strategies, and employee relations programs that are viewed as supportive, fair and equitable. Developing and implementing creative programs and practices that drive high performance and retains top talent
  • Fostering employee commitment to the job by designing and implementing effective 2-way communications processes, i.e., performance evaluations, goal setting, opinion surveys, and internal communication systems
  • Coaching managers in building leadership capability, developing talent, mentoring a diverse workforce, and in other Human Resources strategies and practices across the organization
  • Establishing performance measures to monitor ongoing progress and effectiveness of Human Resources initiatives

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Demonstrated history of developing creative strategies for organizational development
  • Proven experience in providing strategic focus for HR initiatives
  • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively deal with ambiguity and complexity
  • Knowledge of immigration procedures, practices, and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Relations, or Labor Law emphasis required,
  • JD required
  • 8 to 10 years of HR management experience required
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations (CA and other) regarding wage and hour, EEOC, OSHA and other policies governing employment activities

Foreign Filing Specialist

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati’s Patent and Innovation Strategies Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Foreign Filing Specialist.

The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience (candidates with more experience will also be considered). Adequate knowledge of foreign filing is required. The candidate will work closely with attorneys, patent agents, and scientific advisors, as well a Foreign Filing Specialist, a Foreign Filing Paralegal, and a Foreign Filing Assistant. The candidate will also work independently and be responsible for all tasks related to foreign filing. The responsibilities of this candidate include but are not limited to preparing and filing PCT applications, preparing national phase filings, corresponding with foreign associates regarding various matters, corresponding with clients regarding foreign filing matters, reviewing the foreign filing docket, tending to matters related to annuities, and working on other projects as necessary.

The ideal candidate is efficient, flexible, detail-oriented, results-oriented, a self-starter, have strong organizational skills, have excellent communication skills, have strong computer skills, possess the ability to prioritize, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Occasional overtime work is necessary. A bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate is preferred.

Network Administrator

We are seeking a Network Administrator who will be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, upgrading Windows and MAC technologies including VMWare/MS virtual on both client and server architectures for a professional services environment with over 1500 users.

This position will cover all aspects of network, server, storage and desktop support, and we require that the individual have knowledge of all of these areas. Additionally we seek someone who has a minimum 3-4 years experience in Windows 2003 server support, Microsoft System Center/SCOM, Citrix administration and deployment, EMC SAN, RMS, Wireless infrastructure, Wireless LAN security and Software/OS virtualization (MDOP/Softgrid). Working knowledge of Linux and Cisco Networking would be a plus.

The ideal candidate must have a solid background and understanding of security principles and deployment of packages, must possess excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate design ideas and plans into tangible and actionable deliverables that align with business goals and objectives.

This candidate has to have the vision and the ability to develop and support a solutions platform that meets the requirements of the business. Customer focus and a team player attitude are important in this highly visible role. A B.S. and or MS in CS related field degree highly preferred. MCSE-Windows 2003 /08 certification required other certifications would be a plus for this challenging position. The scheduled hours for this position are Saturday – Wednesday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 pm. but may vary according to need.
